Maybe a silly question,
thinking about the best way to connect HT lead to that split brass washer.
Solder or not?
Thanks for any advise - Ralf

I solder but I don't think it makes much difference

Re: HT lead connect to Mag pick up
I can't remember where it is now but somewhere I have a Lucas note on
how to fix the HT lead.
The wire goes through the washer and is folded back and over the washer
so that the acorn nut touches the individual wire strands and not the
washer. The washer is split and springy so it compresses slightly as the
acorn nut is tightened, this helping make and keep a good contact.

Thanks a lot for your hints.
I will go the non soldered way.
Just in case any problems it will help to trace possible faults, f.e. shorten the lead.

Hi
I choose to solder my HT connections as, to my mind, a soldered joint has a higher degree of integrity - these classics require all the help they can get
Regards Mick
