hi i have a sq4 where i have had to get a crankshaft re-metaled , as it was out of commision i decided to see why i have been plagued with false neutrals , i found that the selector fork spindal dowel was extremely worn , now drags are out of stock and it isnt beyond my capabilities to make a pair of them --but with what metal ? or is there another stockist out there where i might obtain them --part number 3739-52
thanks in anticipation
regards

Re: burman gb gearbox
Hi
If they're a 'standard' size I'd make them out of silver steel which can be hardened and tempered quite easily after fabrication.

They are, I believe, in stock with the Club gearbox spares - but you do need to be a Club member to access them. From the colour of your name on the Forum it seems that you are not yet an AOMCC member. Joining could well be the best investment you make, but then I am biased, having joined upwards of half a century ago.

Re: burman gb gearbox
As someone who signed up only a few months ago after adopting a 1937 single I can heartily recommend taking up membership. The help, advice and information (not to mention the spares) I received from Roger, Allan and Geoff was invaluable and worth far more than the cost of membership. Its also a pleasant forum with none of the 'cliqueishness' and bickering sometimes found in others.
