Wow! That’s amazing.

Feels like THE Val Page is talking directly to me across all these years. His advice still echoes. Feel quite emotional.

One of the many reasons I’m enjoying this classic hobby so much.

Thank you! I’ll try sorting the brakes that way first.

Hi Martin

It's probably too late now, but I always take photos during dis-assembly to aid me in re-assembling in the same relationship, (marking helps but there are usually enough manufacturing and wear characteristics to positively identify the components).

Actually Mick, not too late - that’s a really good pic to compare mine too. I can see what Paul means about the fulcrum ends being slightly thicker and the pivot ends thinner - so as they move out, more of both shoes will contact the drum. If I’ve got them the wrong way round, only the tiniest amount of shoe will be making contact. (Collective forehead slapping from numerous readers as they all shout ‘My god, you know I think he’s be finally got it!’). A bit of dismantling now in order. Cheers!
