Managed to find some tins for my wing, all in quite good condition.
Looking at the parts list, and bearing in mind I have not stripped my old chaincase off yet, I was concerned about part number 5708-43, 'Plate holding inner chaincase to crankcase'; is that specific to the tin version, or will it already be there for my aluminium version?
Same question about about part number 5705-43, 'Plate, chaincase, behind clutch'?
I read the posts from Adam regarding cork material to make the 2 gaskets - did you ever find a solution Adam?
I take on board Rogers comments about running it dry, and no doubt that is what will probably end up happening, but I am curious about Adams concern regarding a 'cam' running dry; which part is Adam concerned about?

Re: Got myself some tins - need some advice
Steve, the first plate is just a slightly off round disc which spreads the load of the 4 screws into the chaincase as it attaches to the engine case. I made one out of a piece of tin to fit.
The second is the barrier between the dry clutch basket and plates to the wet chaincase. It has to be fitted between the basket and chainwheel. Its round and the same diameter as the dome
The cam I was referring to is the spring shock absorber cam
Thanks
Adam

Oh and still working on the cork
Re: Got myself some tins - need some advice
The clutch separator is also what the outer dome screws on to
