Mystery 250.
. Anyone know anything about this 250? Taken at Kempton Park, not my photo.

I don't know the bike but from your picture it's a later one - 1930 rather than
1929 as it has a rear stand and an oil pressure gauge in the petrol tank.
The oil tank has been modified and as for the cylinder head . . .
I assume the cylinder is still the right way round with only the head turned and
some interesting modifications done to the rockers and the cam timing - not
quite so difficult on the 250 as it has two camshafts.
I like the airscoop on the front brake and the B and D style scissors friction
damper on the forks.
Given all the modifications and the numberplate I'd have expected a more
radical set of handlebars. Those fitted don't look much different to the
originals.
