Can anybody recommend a good, reliable dynamo restorer please? The last job on my Huntmaster restoration is the dynamo. The bike is running very well but the dynamo (6v) is not charging. I've had a wire across the terminals with a 12v bulb and the output is just enough to get a very weak glow, so not entirely dead, but not alive either! The brushes have plenty of meat on them and the wiring looks old but intact, so I'm wondering if it needs a rewind. Any advice would be most welcome.

Andrew has a very good reputation among BSA folks (I think BSA is his specialist area).
Drags seem to have stopped their dynamo reconditioning service, but if you're feeling adventurous there are a few parts about!

That's a surprise, Simon. I've had a lot of stuff from Feked in the past and never realised they did so much for dynamos. I've totted up the rough cost of the stuff I think I'd need and it's not far off what I reckon a professional job would cost me. I've been in contact with Andrew and having spoken to him I think I'll go with him. I've got quite enough stress in my life without cocking up a dynamo resto, but thanks for pointing this out.
