Yes that looks like a repro tank, and I am sorry to be the party pooper but those emblem indents are way of horizontal.
Was the original tank unservicable , even if painted ?

been busy...yes...its really really dark Red and yes....
the wings are wrong for 48 but i like them.

New corks and cork springs into the VH. All went together well. Following on from Geoff’s instructions I left the plates to dry then put them under a couple of flyweels overnight.
The drags springs are quite a bit heavier and shorter than the club springs.
Also pulled the chain cover to check the shockabsorber nuts were tight and make up some fibre washers for the cover screws.
Adjusted up well and no issues with the pushrod length at 322mm long (BAP Box).
Yet to go for a ride but hopefully my heavy sticking clutch is behind me.
