I have an older club pressure gauge - one of the ones with "eureka" on it.
After changing my engine, to a single, I needed to replumb the gauge.
I waited 4 months to get the upper oil pipe from Draganfly - which runs from the rocker take off to the gauge - it has a silly 1/4" cycle thread at the rocker.
I now find that it doesn't fit my gauge. Draganfly tell me that this is the only one they do and so I need to figure out what my gauge needs.
I think it's a "smiths" take off type - but there don't seem to be many solder on ends for them. My aim was to unsolder their incorrect one and solder on he right one.
Anyone had similar issues ?

Re: Oil pressure gauge fitting
Hi John, I had forgotten about these early gauges, Draganfly used to make the special end required, I think by drilling a counterbore in the end of the fitting to accept the little protrusion on the base of the thread on the gauge. These pipes have always been a bit of a minefield as there were 2 original fittings and 2 types on pattern gauges and then there are all sorts of others that may have been fitted over the years.

Re: Oil pressure gauge fitting
Hey Roger,
I tried to drill out the end on the supplied pipe , unfortunately it's too bulky and doesn't allow the nut to thread on far enough.
I was originally going to invent a custom solution, but I hung on for the draganfly part, so I will need to goback to plan A now.

Re: Oil pressure gauge fitting
Bring yourself over here with gauge, pipe and no fewer than 2 cans of beer and I will sort it out for you.

Were would we be without the beer economy. Seems to work universally.

I've done it !
With nothing to lose, I de-soldered, took it down in the lathe and resoldered.
Apparantly you're also supposed to put a tiny fibre or rubber washer in there ?
Hope this helps the next person with a similar issue

My Red Hunter has worked without that tiny fibre washer satisfactorily since 1978 !
