Model C

Post by brenton.roy »

Some of may have briefly seen a For Sale note on our forum a few months back, for a '27 model C.
Thanks to Paul, a member of our forum, it's now an Aussie resident, now an export model - via Holland. If it's very good, I might have it naturalised.
importing / exporting a bike is quite an exercise and I really do mean it when I thank the vendor and those of you who have either provided encouragement or heckling on the sidelines. All have been appreciated.
I'm hoping startup and first ride will be tomorrow. I have written instructions, and dave's book. What can go wrong!

Thanks!
I've just got back from my first ride.
Pretty much all I want to do is go again.
I get the Black Ariel thing now.

I'd like to think you'll be remembering us mere mortals ...... :D

I have put one on my christmas list; if (children under the age of 8, look away now) only Father Christmas really existed eh .. :(

Yes a very good buy and so complete.

Some advice, the valves and guides weare in 3000 miles, if you make the breatherpipe upstairs spraying the vave stems they live 10.000 miles and a much nicer tickover.

O yes John, father Christmas did exist, Saint Nicolas had his birthday on Dec 5 wich is celebrated in the Netherlands, this went to America with the emigrants, altered to father Cristmas, and came back to England that way.
So yes keep hoping.

Hello Adrie,
Yes it is very complete. I'm very fortunate.
it looks like the previous owner was far smarter than me (which may not be anything too special..). There is a small gravity feed drip oiler which clearly works.
Beautifully made.
John, you may need to bite the bullet?

Brenton,
they are indeed fine machines to ride and enjoy

I've packed inside my valve springs with cotton wool soaked in oil to prevent dirt getting into the guides.I also oil them every ride(the guides)

Happy riding
