Another plea for advice please? The '59 'NH' I have just bought has quite badly damaged paintwork on mainly the front Mudguard. Certainly needs addressing and really means de-doing the whole Mudguard rather than attempting patching.
So - query is: Could anyone tell me what paint type was used (mine does look reasonably original) so I can see about respraying it once the weather warms up. The colour is Black, not the more usual marooon. Would it have been cellulose back then, or an enamel?
Any suggestions very welcome,
Richard (ps: What do folks recommend as regards Tyre Pressures - Single vs with pillion?)

Ariel paint was an enamel rather than cellulose.
I use 25-26 psi in the (Avon AM26) tyres.
