Trying to keep busy, thought I'd make a document holder for the bottom toolbox. Here's a photo (pinched from Mr Holyfields website) of one
and one from Vincent:
I made a cardboard template that fitted into the flat part of the lid and then, using my stock of old desktop computer cases, I made up the holder using a couple of lengths of angle iron to do the initial bends and some 1/4" plate to form the second bend.
It was fixed to the lid with some very sticky, thin, foam, double sided tape.
I assume it was there to take the WNG 'Drivers handbook?'. I should have checked the size first!! as one I found on the internet said it was 144mm long and my 'slot' was only 125mm . Still I've printed one off to fit .

Hi Alan,
I recently got a 1943 W/NG here in Canada that came originally from Burma (Myanmar now) then California -then Vancouver BC Canada and now Edmonton area (Spruce Grove) Alberta. it's mostly complete and has the panniers also. It's black but in scraping off paint in several places including hard to get to frame areas there is no underlying color-so i'nm assuming it was from the factory as a black model which apparently went to air traffic, police-federal duties etc. I would like to keep in touch regarding parts and rebuild stuff if that's ok.
