I drive an Ariel 500 from 1927. I use both E5 and E10. The motorcycle can ride with both types of fuel. I feel like he likes pure gasoline more but he can also drive on the E10. The only problem is if you park the motorcycle for a long time then it is necessary to have an empty or full tank. Optionally add an isopropyl alcohol additive. if the tank is half empty and stands for a long time. a drop of water condenses on its tents from inside E10 gasoline then breaks down. However, it takes a long time. At least 6 months in the garage with a change in temperature

Where I live we've had E10 for 20/30 years. I've had no major problems except for very old cruddy rubber parts going bad. Almost all my old bikes have the original floats yet. I have found that the E10 will go bad fast without some sort of additive in it, even then it tends to muck up carbs after a few months of storage. Around here we have some stations that have a special pump that sells pure gas for "Recreational and Classic vehicles only" so I use that when possible especially when preparing for winter storage.

Just if anyone was interested, it wasn't rust in the tank. Took it off today to find is is full of bits of Epoxy. One of the mounting points on the underside has had a repair, so I suspect it was to seal this poor weld.
Best regards,
Ben

Folks; - The USA has been using E10 as standard for the past ten years... don't quite see what all the fuss is about.
