Straight pull throttle
I am trying to work out how the 1930s straight pull throttle works, and what I am missing. There is an earlier thread on the forum that shows some of the workings. I have the internal piece that is fixed into the handlebar and I assume the cable fits into this and that there must be a sliding part which is moved by a twist grip tube with a scroll in it. I am not clear where the cable outer is fixed, presumably where the inner comes out of the handlebar. Any assistance/photos would be appreciated. Mark

Re: Straight pull throttle
The handlebar tube I seem to remember has two slots in it and there are two small brass pieces which run in these two slots. These two small pieces become further apart as the throttle is opened.
EDIT : I now think the handlebar has a single horizontal slot. The two small brass pieces run horizontally and are pulled apart by the diagonal slots in the twistgrip outer.
Ok, not very helpful but it might give clues. Someone must have some better photos somewhere.
