Re: Imperial taps and dies
I've got a lot of taps and dies from them too. I have to say that the stuff from Tracy Tools is better quality - you can see it in the torque it takes to cut a thread.
cheers

Re: Imperial taps and dies
Thanks Simon, I'll note that.
I've been looking for the 3/4 x 20 to clean up a sq 4 main gear puller made by my late father. I have to confess that I've not searched recently until just the other day.

Re: Imperial taps and dies
Hi Simes i just start looking for a tap or die or socket etc and a lot of sellers are engineer suppliers i found a lot good new well known old makes tooling that they are clearing out because a lot of the sizes are not used now 2 years ago i was looking for a 6 sided deep socket B S W for my gearbox rear sprocket nut
and i found a suppliers that made tools for the ministry of defence since the late 1800 hundreds and i got two well known that they did make deep new old stock sockets for £ 5.85p each with free post packing if i got them off of snap
they would be about 50 to 60 pounds each , so that is why i look to see what else they do and you can pick up some real good cheap bargains

Hi Folks - I've found https://www.chronos.ltd.uk/ to be excellent for the "hard to find" Imperials taps & dies.
Good quality, reasonable price & delivery.

I found the gearbox sprocket nut (BA) is a good fit in a Toyota Landcruiser axle nut wrench.

Re: Imperial taps and dies
hi John that is a metric socket which is a double hexagon ( unless it is a well worn hexagon ) i did try one but i don't like it driving on the corners of the nut i like it to drive on the flats of the nut
