Daily Fixing and Riding Diary on an Ariel 2021

Post by Steven.Carter »

Hope everyone has a great Christmas

"WE" the Huntmaster got back on the road last April so she didn't have a long riding year but then I still would have hoped to have done more miles, the pandemic put paid to that.
I fitted a new speedo which was at zero miles,. She's now at 5298 miles.
First job for 2021, do an oil change :D

I'm also patching up an Avon fairing that Lew Wallwork gave me. Its something to do whilst locked down, again!!

Heres to much better new year.

Cheers Nev.

The small Morgo oil filters are very easy to fit and make changes very easy. They have a 17mm spanner size nut moulded into the filter.

First trip out, our lockdown should have stopped me going out but I had a delivery to make to one of my customers. So that made it legal.

Nothing went wrong either, thats a great start to the year. :D

Steve,
I had hoped last year to come and see your filter installation (but for the obvious reasons never did) and as I'm at the oil pipe plumbing stage I
wonder which of the types of Morgo filter bodies you would recommend. I see from here https://www.morgo.co.uk/product-categor ... ilter-kit/ there's a "side feed" and a "top feed" pattern. Which is easiest to fit? And did you make your own brackets, etc?
Regards from MikeN.

Hi Mike,

You need the top fee type, and these bits

Goes through the bottom side car mount, thats why you need a longer bolt.

I had a job yesterday, Rainham in Essex, true to its name I got a good soaking, even some snow.

Managed to stay reasonably warm, just my boots filled up with water.

Coming home I used my Christmas present. Can't sit in the warm so my stool is perfect :D
