The RIB stops before your 4 & 3 and there's nothing where you show 6. There 's a light steel strip bent at one end (near 4) to locate with the drive side rear engine plate. Nev

Flat section 6 with holes 3 and 4 must be moved to section 5 that I must flatten.
Holes 1 and 2 should be moved an inch up. The flat part 7 does not know what function it performs.

1-2 and 3-4 are 18.5 cms apart From 3-4 to end of guard will vary is to how it's cut off. it's around 19 cms on the two I've checked and the end goes close to the RH side lower frame. The flat (7) seems to be absent on the W/NG but on an immediate post war one it's there. I can't see what it does. On YOURs I would carefully join it up to the two ribbed bits if you can do it neatly, otherwise don't bother. Nev
