Refering to the SV above....Quite a few things wrong with that. Headlight, gearbox (4-speed) tank (with panel) NO.I think a good OHV would be worth $12,000 AUD. at least, here in Australia.
To the model F 1930. First year for chrome . Carb.is brass. Mine is nickelled. Mufflers could be a better shape. Can't see the speedo and oil gauge, in either picture . (Guess they are there).
Are there many of these in Europe? The cheaper version runs a sturmey gearbox which I would have thought is better than the Burman's on the more expensive models.of the same year. They get along well..The top model 500 OHV was supposed to do 84 MPH..Nev

The quoted prices do seem to be very high nowadays but they are not often paid. Many of these bikes stick around until the price drops to something more reasonable. There are still plenty of blackies around and only the rare ones can usually command the bigger money such as any 26 OHV, or some of the top sporting models such as the 27E or 30G.

There is a 1930 model B £4,650 on the latest Andy Tiernan advert in Real Classic but I didn't see it on their web page. BTW... Real Classic have a Black Ariel piece in the June edition (1928 model C).

Have to agree about the 1930 model G. and the others you mention. Any of the early Page designed OHV's are special. They're all good performers too. The interesting stuff ran right through to the mid-30's. such a multiplicity of designs must have hurt profitability. In the basic models parts interchangeability is excellent generally. If someone is interested in the models around 28-30 always check the gearbox mount plate ( at the bottom) not the strongest set-up) and can be a bit difficult to do a really good repair.
