Wanted carrier for 500F 1929

Post by ismohautala »

Hi

I bought resently a quite original Ariel 500F 1929 without carrier and the headlight (ss49)is empty shell.

So does anyone has a carriel (stay tubes I can made myself) and original headlight rim with reflector?

The parts condition can be poor but useful.

Is there someone who makes toolboxes(leather cover) for this carrier model?

Regards

Hi,
You can buy an excellent reproduction '29 carrier and tool boxes (shells only I think) from a Czech fellow by the name of Josef. He sells various good quality early Ariel reproduction parts at reasonable prices (he sometimes lists products on UK ebay) and no I'm not on a commission! He will sell the carrier either complete or just the main structure.
He can be contacted at:
pepcak@volny.cz

Regards,

John.

Hi

Thank you for this info , I will contact to Josef.

Those reproduction carriers seems to be OK . I always prefer original parts if they are available , even if they are quite "bad shape" ;) .

The leather covered toolboxes are another thing , does someone make them or I need closeup pictures how they are made?

Hi,
A friend of mine called Mark Baker makes the tool boxes complete with leather front, there is a picture of his work on Paul Wirdnams sloper rebuild on this forum and he has also made me a pair for my 29 model F, so he knows exactly what you need. I will pm you his phone number.
Regards PT.
