IF it's made from some of the high strength bronzes that have aluminium in them, it won't tin with solder. Check before you get to that stage. How do I know? Had some "Y" shaped fuel junctions cast and nothing you do will make them tin. Luckily I didn't machine all of them up before I found this out. Counter sink the thick end so you spread the cable strands so it won't pull out when you want to stop quickly. Nev

I made the solder in the nipple and it was very strong.
The decompressor works correctly with new lever.
