1955 Rear Brake Cable Length

Post by Alan.Haynes »

Does anyone know the correct length of rear brake cable for a 1955 KH?

I have bought a Cable from Draganfly but this seems to be too long. There is a lot of pedal travel (much more than my later VH and FH with the FWH) and I can only describe the overall feel as 'sloppy'. The cable adjuster is at the maximum adjustment so I can only asssume the cable is too long.

If anyone can send me a photograph of the rear cable set up on a twin with the single sided hub I would be immensely grateful (In case I've set something up wrong.)

Thanks in advance.

Hi Alan,
Have you tried adjusting the brake shoes (square headed adjuster on the brake plate) before adjusting the slack on the new cable ?
Regards,
