I picked up a resleeved pre-monobloc at an auto jumble for £30 and then the concentric went onto my KH500.
I don't think I had to mess with the slide or needle much, from memory.
The change of mainjet pretty much cured my ills.

Re: 1950 350NH basket case
I took her out for a run on Sunday. Still takes a long time (couple of miles) before I can open the air lever but once hot she's running ok. Still improved by closing the lever slightly but the plug is a good colour and I think I'll park this problem for now and maybe revisit later. The trials bars and stubby exhaust make it a hoot around the lanes but when I get it fit for regular use I'll look for a quieter exhaust and that is likely to change the mixture again.
So, next jobs. Fork seals, charging, oil leaks.

Maybe I have found the answer to the carb problem in an article from an old Motor Cycle mag. I'm using a fibre spacer.

Took the old girl over to Abingdon today (needed silicone for the shower) - its a hoot round the lanes but I'll need more seat springs before going further afield.
Think the carb is finally behaving and I was very pleased when I came out of Homebase to find only a tiny spot of oil and she started first kick.
Sadly, looked at the engine later when at traffic lights and both a push rod tube and the alloy rocker gaskets were leaking.
Think I might save some of the silicone for the next strip.....
