Machine shops in the midlands

Post by robjameson »

I am unfortunately about to fall out with SEP in Kegworth, and I am wondering if anyone has used and can recommend an alternative shop for doing things like line boring, valve seat cutting, rebore etc in the midlands?

I used Nametab in Redditch for a recent rebore and can recommend them. Simon Bateman (see what he did there?) is a nice chap, has good equipment and seems to know his stuff.

Good day Ariel experts.
Can anyone recommend a good shop to have Valve seats replaced on a SQ4 MK2 cylinder head? I’m doing the guides myself but the inserts require a better mill than I have !

I’m near Beaconsfield on the west side of London?

Thanks
Syd

Gents, I’m still looking for a shop to have my MK2 head valve seats to be replaced in the UK? Im a bit nervous about just giving it to any head shop so if anyone has had good experience getting this type of work done I would really appreciate your advice! This particular head has a lot of my time invested in it! It needed quite a bit of welding done due to corrosion issues on the sealing face, next I’ve had to drill out most of the valve guides as someone botched trying to remove them in the past and I also had to drill out Several broken studs ...so really don’t want to give it to some ham fisted person to ruin it!
