Sorry didn`t see your reply.

By chance a mate of mine bought a load of parts and 2 ariel cases were in the parts bins.

One has no external feed and the other looks exactly like mine, but the valve threads are smaller and the crankshaft bush has been removed.

At the mo I`m turning down a rod so I can use it as a drift for the bush.

I am useless when it comes to old school measurements, anyone know what the thread type is on the smaller version?

On a side note there is a lot more meat around the smaller type thread so I think it will be a pretty permanent fix.

My only worry is getting it all back together with the timing gears in the correct possition.

Ok, Started striping this evening and the new part is excactly the same as the old one.

Same part number and thread sizes. Over the moon with that.
