WANTED: non-functional lucas regulator

Post by john.nash »

I'm looking for a non-functional regulator. An MCR1 or 2.
Needs it's top cover and retaining spring.

Image

Willing to pay or swap for something of equal value (nice set of early footrest hangers ...http://forum.arielownersmcc.com/viewt ... f=11&t=618 )

I am going to rip out the inside and put in an electronic regulator. I'll solder the reg connections inside, so that externally you shouldn't be able to tell.
I'll also clean it up.

pm me via the forum or the webmaster@arielownersmcc.com address.

cheers

Might be better if you specify which one. The post war ones , (don't know the exact year),where the generator has two retaining screws for the field coil, has the larger one. Nev

John, I probably have one of a Morris Minor that you can have. Let me know and I'll bung it in the post.

Hi Nev, it might be - I've got a box of them somewhere.
How is the ride going? cooking or drowning? - I see 35 today, 38 tomorrow...

The actual ride doesn't commence till next Friday. (16th). I'm trying to dodge the heat. 40 in Perth today, ( That's why I'm in Esperance, but it's not much cooler. At least there is the ocean to look at) There was no mobile phone or Computer access from Eucla to Norseman. We drove nearly 1,000 km's yesterday. Nev

Not much point - there's nothing there, well nothing to ring someone up about anyway.
At least the forecast is for it to cool down.
I hope it goes well for you Nev. It must have been really frightening for the people on the original ride.

John Mitchell has offered to swap the ropiest one, he has, for my early "aftermarket" footrests... so I think I am sorted
