Arrow miss firing and cutting out
Arrow miss firing and cutting out
Hi all
My arrow just will not run right at all, sounds perfect under load up to half throttle but after that miss fires and cuts out, it has a pazon electronic ignition running off a six volt supply, carburetor has been fully reconditioned and the engine is fully reconditioned.
Thanks
Alan

Hi Graham
Yes had a new set, i am now taking off the Pazon electronic ignition to rule that out.

Hi,
I've come across reconditioned carbs which for some reason cause problems with good engine performance. If the Pazon is OK that may be the next item to check.

Hi Brian
I would agree with you that a recondition carburetor can play up but i have now had the original one which was in good condition and this one so i have sort of ruled the carburetor out. I had an Arrow back in the sixties and never had this bother.
I will update once i get the points back on and running.

Re: Arrow miss firing and cutting out
I also had an arrow back in the 60s and did have very similar issues, I had high compression heads (skimmed) and open expansion chambers and the only plugs I could get it to run on consistently well were Lodge, unfortunately I can't remember the type.
Two stroke motors can be very fussy about plugs.

Re: Arrow miss firing and cutting out
Hi Alan
Both of mine arrows have seemed to lose power when they got warm and were running on 97 oct petrol but have shown no such trouble on 95 oct
I am 6 volt and points if that makes any difference.

Hi Bob
I have now had to take the crank out as it has somehow worked loose and sheared the key that locate's both sides of the crank on the centre taper, I am am not sure if to tackle this job without sending it to an expert.
