thanks for the 'heads up' Adrie, however I cannot see the point in buying another when what I have is repairable, just means the bike would be off the road a while, if push comes to shove I could live with the seepage, although annoying, for a while, kind regards

Is that a Ariel tank ? what year ?
It has a late fifties filler hole with banyonet lock.
