It's Logging Me Out
As a regular (daily at least) forum user, my various devices (phone, iPad, PC) log directly into the forum since they are set up to remember the password and username.
That is, they were, until yesterday. Now my iPad wants the password & username every time. Has anything changed? Has anyone else experienced this?
Other devices seem unaffected.

Hi Simes,
I don't think so. Probably another Apple quirk. Each update seems to bring a new set of problems.

I think you are right Brenton - probably for security's sake. There was an update just before it started happening.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: It's Logging Me Out
' I'ts ' been doing this since long time and I have given up.
Everytime I want to go on the forum 'it' asks me to log in and also asks if I want to be remembered
... (who does not, but that's more filosofical...)
Every time I fill in YES, but dementia has its grip on the powers that take care of logging in, and 'it' forgets it every time and treats me as a new kid.
So I have given up.

Re: It's Logging Me Out
resurrecting this thread I have now the same problem in having to register each, well nearly each, visit I thought perhaps there was a limited time to stay connected, many other forums are timed, but it seems that i am not alone, kind regards

Re: It's Logging Me Out
Cookies are what determine if you are remembered or not.
http://www.whatarecookies.com/
The setting on the forum hasn't changed and neither has the cookie name.
I would usually advise clearing caches and reset your devices settings and see if it resolves itself
I had a quick look through logged issues with this forum version and it looks ok ..
if required I can rename our cookie - which will force all users to lose their saved logins (and view settings) and set them again
This forum is "timed". All forums are. They have to be.
A session is created everytime you login and the server will hold it open for a set period of time . If there is no activity for a set period of time, i.e. you decide to go the shops or fall asleep, then the server will close the session. If this didn't happen, then eventually there would be overload and the world would end.
Our session timeout is sufficiently long enough so you can type huge messages (there is no interaction between server and your machine until you hit "submit"). it's 4600 seconds, which is around 1 hour and 16 mins
