I bought this tank expensively on ebay when I first started with the 1930 model G. It is a chrome tank with a few minor dings and other patina but is solid and I have lined the inside. It also has a speedo blanking plate and the original gear change gate. The gear change spindle needs to be repaired as it is missing the threaded stud.
I thought at the time that it would be perfect to do a patina bike but when another newly chromed tank became available, I caved in. I'm not really eager to sell it as they are getting rare but would hate to think that someone has a bike kept off the road due to my hoarding. It stands me at £440 which is quite a lot of money for a tank but I suppose if you've been looking on ebay for a few disappoining years then maybe it will be worth it to you. Anyway, that's the price.
I expect to be at Shepton this Saturday (5th March 2011) and later in the year I hope to be at the AGM so can bring it along to either.
