You can remove the ends from an ordinary set of pushrods and replace the steel tube with good grade aircraft Aluminium tube, if you are stuck for the rods. Nev

Hi Nev
Can you tell me how the ends come off of the push rod and the length of the tube I would need and can you mix and match different push rods has I have got a steel pair.

I did this.

Mark where the end sits on the rod; so you'll know how far down it should go, when you knock it back on.

Little bit of heat and then gently tap the ends off - using something softer than the ends (or rods) - I think I used another bit of ali.

When putting the ends back on, mark the rod so you know where it should sit, then again heat them up a little and tap on.
