I hope someone can help, on the ariel arrow 250.
The bike will .start first kick if it has been left for 3 months you can then ride the bike wherever you want once it is switched off and 20 minutes has elasped that will not go again until the next day,
When trying to start it, it has a good spark but the plugs are wet. Trying to cure this problem - it has had electicronic ignition crank seals another carb plugs and leads but the problem remains. It has been resprayed, new exhausts, and chrome it looks very pretty but I am so dispondant Im thinking of keeping it in the garden as a water feature. Any ideas?
Thanks

Re: warm starting
Maybe the hole in the petrolcap is blocked.

Re: warm starting
I have only ever had this issue with a 2 stroke bantam! i found it to be the fuel evaporating from the carb when left warm. Try leaving the petrol tap switched on for a while until the engine cools.
Hope that helps!

Arrows have a tendency to be reluctant warm starters. Assuming ignition timing is correct and plugs are correctly gapped: 1. Ensure petrol cap breather is clear and not obstructed when you sit on the seat. 2. Ensure the main and pilot jets are clear - have a GOOD look, I once found a human hair in a main jet, removed it and bingo! 3. If everything ok, tickle the carb, no choke, ignition on, 1/4 turn on the throttle, good kick and she should fire.
