Rough Riding on a W/NG
A lot of you gents have probably seen this video before. It is from 1944 and is 'Set in and around the grounds of Wentworth Hall, South Yorkshire, this film captures soldiers’ wartime training to become motorcycle riders. The film includes footage of the riders on the extensive training course'
This is the full version and is in 'color'. Lots of period Ariels
The person who put it up on YOUTUBE asks that the video is not re-posted (it is not listed on Youtube) so you need to click on the URL below to view it. Well worth a look:

Alan, very nice! In colour it looks less distant although it is 70 years ago...

Haven't watched it for awhile but well worth it. Love the funny lyrics to go along with the antics. Some of it is like watching amateur hour . Well, of course they are amateurs to start with. Falling off the bike and not being able to start it are the funny bits. In between the song lyrics it would be great to have the actual sounds of the bikes. The sound track could be overdubbed. Or, a re-enactment could be filmed with voices giving commands and the sound of bikes starting and running. Have been thinking that a television series needs to be made about dispatch riders with insights into their daily lives and routines. That I would watch!
