Lowering a Huntmaster
Hi fellow members. I am new to the club and Ariel ownership. I have a 1954 Huntmaster. Does anyone know if these machines can be lowered. I am used to a Harley Sportster so lowering that was no problem. I need to know what shockers and fork leg springs to use. neil.grant

Hi Neil,
These swinging arm Ariels are lovely, comfortable and handle well, but by lowering would you not run into serious ground clearance problems when trying to go round corners?
Mind you, if you are used to a lowered HD who knows?
The standard Dualseat is quite thick and well endowed with sponge, so maybe RK Leighton could make you a thinner seat to lower the riding position.
All the best,
Robin.

Fit the running gear into a rigid frame?

Re: Lowering a Huntmaster
Hi Robin and Peter, Thanks for your suggestions. I think having a lower profile seat would probably be the easiest way to lower the bike without any problems. I'm not picking up the bike till Thursday so I may well get used to it. I'm not the tallest of blokes which is why I enquired. I am looking forward to owning it and bringing it back to former glory. take care. Neil

As long as you legs are around the 29 inch mark they are very comfortable
