The following sites are worth a look (used them all in the past, except where stated, without any hassle):-
(1). feked.com (http://www.feked.com/). I used them when rebuilding my dynamo but they do loads of other classic parts including gaskets, carbs, exhausts, clutch plates etc. for Ariels. Very efficient quick service.
(2). If you are in / near East Kent then Road Star Cycles in Dover (http://www.roadstarcycles.co.uk) are the people to rebuild your spoked wheels, skim drums, weld stuff etc. They are also Wassel agents (cables, levers, handlebars etc.). Both John and Steve are very helpful guys and have years of classic bike experience.
(3). For cheap Cyclon batteries I couldn't find any company to beat CPC (http://cpc.farnell.com/) pricewise.
(4). Bearing-wise I found Simply Bearings Ltd. (http://simplybearings.co.uk/shop/bearin ... _page2.php) useful, cheap and extremely quick. Used them for dynamo and magneto bearings. If they haven't got it then try Bearingboys (http://www.bearingboys.co.uk/)....I haven't personally used this company yet but have noticed they have some imperial bearings that Simply bearings do not stock and seem inexpensive. If you have a code or can accurately measure the old bearing then with a bit of luck you should be able to get it usually with a choice of manufacturers and sealed or unsealed etc. etc. Can't find the GB gearbox mainshaft drive side bearing anywhere other than our favourite main Ariel parts suppliers yet though !
(5). It is also worth getting the 'Armour' catalogue. Try http://www.classicmotorcycleparts.co.uk/ for details. I got my NH exhaust and silencer from them and both seem to be good quality chrome products. The pipe hasn't 'blued' at all.
I have also used Surrey Cycles ( already mentioned by John in a previous post ) for Amal carbs / parts. Another excellent firm.
Hope you find the above food for thought and useful.

Keith Mettam.

I bought the pipe and silencer for my VH in 1978. If you look under members bikes (1950 VH) you'sll see that they are still there after all these years. If the quality is still the same then they are the 'dog's B******'!
