We are all able to Personal Message (PM) other members via the forum messaging system. There are PM buttons around the area where you post and at the top left of the main menu screen (0 new messages).
The system is pretty basic, and works just like email.
When you write a PM and press SEND, a couple of things happen.
1. The recipient gets an email, sent to the email address they used to join the forum, letting them know they have a message, and from who.
2. Your message moves to your OUTBOX, and stays there. This can seem a little strange, as messages in email clients like Outlook send quite quickly. It will move to SENT when it has been read.
Knowing your message has been read.
When your message is no longer in your outbox, it has been read by the other party. It will then go to SENT ITEMS, showing it has been received and opened by the other party.
If the message has not been opened, the other party may not have logged in (you need to log in properly to see that you have messages) and / or they may no longer be using the email address they initially used to create a login, and not received the reminder. In either direction, there's not much to be done.
