Has anyone had success with a Mikuni on a late alloy head VH?

Don't mikuni's require those rubber compliance fittings to mount on ?
I ask this as I had to fit a "converter" to the 2005 enfield, to take it from the indian Mikcarb (mikuni copy) to an amal.

I do have a 30mm Mikuni fitted to my 1955 HS. It was easy to fit and behaves well. Do you need any further information?
