ARIEL VB600 on EbayUK

Post by brett.hayhurst »

Bike on Ebay described as ARIEL VB600 motorcycle restored shabby chic loftbar tribsa custom bike classicUK

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ARIEL-VB600-m ... 4ac5190f7b

Has it listed twice under "see other items" with different ending times so don't know what the go there is. Shabby chic ? that's a term for a bike I have not heard before.

The photo of the whole bike is blurred but beside WNG footrests, carb, horn and missing rear stand, I cann't see much wrong with it.

I think the QD hub was an option across the models.

That bike has been on ebay about three times ,each time ending before its end time with the message the seller no longer has the vehicle ,it also has the same discription (shabby chic).

I've watched this one on eBay every time it's been listed--I've been really curious about why it always ends early and always gets re-listed.
A bunch of interesting junk spread across 3 continents, but NO Ariel, not yet, anyway.

What they do is bid on it theire selfs to see how high the highest bidder is willing to pay and than re enter it in the auction later or in an other country.

The auction houses do the same at live auctions named "bidding against the wall".

I have complained about it at Ebay.

Its also a sneaky way of using ebay for advertising, without paying the commission.Theres a local dealer in classic bikes here who does it all the time.Im surprised ebay doesn't ban him. They must get something out of it.Regards John.
