Old tank sealer remover

Hi,
I need to get the old tank sealer out of my petrol tank as it is not ethanol resistant I need to do this with out getting it on the paint work
has any body had this problem and how did they go about it please. :)

You need to know what sealant type it is first. I used to have the flexible red aircraft type and it tool two goes at getting it out.

I got mine from these people and they were helpful on the phone too.

I also used Tank Care Products of Norwich and found them to be very helpful with advice on how to remove and replace the old sealant. The ethanol had turned the Pet-Seal in my tank into a gloopy white sludge which constantly blocked the carb. Their remover and ethanol resistant tank sealer were excellent. Protect your paintwork though because the remover is powerful stuff and the fumes will strip paint from the tank if they come into contact with each other. Don't ask me how I know this - the memory is still too painful to bear!

Thanks for the advise, I just hope my memory don't get to painful :cry:
