A good, vibrant forum is a fantastic asset to any group of like minded individuals ...
However, it requires people to actually use it .

Re: new forum
I haven't discussed the "ramping down" of the Yahoo forum, with the other members of the committee yet.
I guess we were going to see how we went over here.
It's been about a month here now and we've only got to 50 odd members; there are over 300 on the yahoo group.
Some people may have missed the notification, don't use the yahoo group enough to realise, or maybe not want to migrate over.
I'll fire in an advert into Cheval but I cannot make the horse drink, if it doesn't want to.
At some point, I am going to put the link onto our public site but that time isn't yet.

Re: new forum
Hello
I am excited to be there in this forum. My English is not so much that I am able to communicate with you without translators.
I hope, you will excuse this
It was not easy to find the forum. You should this www.arielownersmcc.com link on the page, or have I simply overlooked.
Greetings

thomas,
We have the information page and link on the member's site : http://www.arielownersmcc.com/members_only/forum.html
I have purposely not put a link on the public http://www.arielownersmcc.com site yet, until we've got most of the AOMCC members over and I've ironed out any issues.
When everything looks good, then we'll go more public....

Re: new forum
Congratulations for this splendid forum.
I think you should close down the Yahoo forum, within a couple of months.
The sooner, the better. Othervise you will never get the masses to join in.
Arielists will be frustrated if we try to keep both forum's active.

Magne,
All the comments I made regarding the yahoo group and making horses drink, still stand.
While people prefer to use the older style "newsgroup" format, then it's going to be tough to take it away and tell them to use this layout.
Yes, it's my opinion and yours, that a modern forum is a far more flexible and useful method of internet support and communication but that shouldn't outweigh what other people are happier using.
Any Club should be driven by its members and that is what will happen,
What I will continue to do, is to make sure that people know that this forum exists and what it's advantages are (advert in cheval this month, hopefully)
We can then let everyone vote with their feet and then decide on a future course of action.
Of course, everyone here can all help these efforts by letting other members know about this forum, so they can make an informed choice.
cheers
