A friend of a friend - who turns out to be an AOMCC member - arrived on his recently restored 1947 'iron head' square four:
Its rather tasty
A neighbour rode his Matchless G3L across the road and joined the party.
Soon, the discussions were in full swing
Harry Mendelssohn heading home before the rain starts (well, this is Scotland).
Good to meet you, Harry, and to hear your stories from your flying career .
Sorry, I didn't get the frame, engine or gearbox numbers but this seems to be one of the last 'iron head' bikes, put together after the MkI alloy model had been launched. It has the 'three-brush' dynamo and is running on 6 volts (with LED bulbs).
Then I fired up my 'VH' for the first time in two years - the oil soon returned to the tank ( ). The carburation is all to hell and needs work but despite that everything else worked.
An interesting afternoon.
Bob.

Re: Today I had a visitor
It does look good and not overdone. The first Sq4 I got to ride was a 47 iron with rigid frame otherwise very similar, in the mid 50's. My impression then was that nothing would beat it by much to 45MPH and the smoothness of the motor. Nev
