Yes - new stainless (Hagon) - probably will get masked up & vapour blasted first...
The motor should come apart over winter so wanna get the wheels done whilst it's off the road.

Hi Folks - further to discussing the paint reqs with two different "motorcycle paint specialists" they both stated that to have the rims (new stainless steel in my case) vapour or any other form of blast cleaning would be insane! - such will take the briney shyte finish to dull and the subsequent repolish to return the lustre would cause the paint to bubble along with the danger of buffing into the new paint.
Both painters stated; - the correct sequence is to mask off unpainted zones, "scotch" the surface to be painted, acid etch, then x2 coats of etch primer - flatten off as necessary then paint... thus I have delivered my new rims to an experienced finisher.
FYI - have been informed that the "red" of my Sq is known as (Ariel) "Glamour Red"... whether this is actually correct for the model &/or year does not concern me; - providing the tank & wheels match - I'll be happy.

Well I only blasted the section that was to be painted, and as they said, you need to 'scotch' the surface, which is what carefully masked blasting does. Perhaps they both misunderstood.
