For those with a lathe and wanting to grind the jaws of self centering chucks after they have become worn this is one method.
To keep the jaws of the chuck tight to the the scroll, aluminum pieces are fitted to the chuck, as shown, this is so that they do not get in the way of the grinding quill whilst grinding the jaws. Tightening of jaws will slightly embed them into the aluminum ensuring tightness to the scroll, see attachments.
The "scroll" is the thread type mechanism that opens and closes the jaws.
