Interesting, airhead BMs do the same thing.....I thought it was just a BMW thing!

It was dry in there, no grease.
Most of the screws and bolts of the exhaust turned to shrapnel removing them.
Even won't let go of my tools
I won't be so anti oil leaks in future

But BM's run in oil.
Still if it leaks oil, at least you know that there is some in there

It's always the same, the best stuff is often on your doorstep.
Shawford water works occasionally opens up and gets their steam engine going. I've never seen it before and is 4 miles from home.

It is beautiful. These videos have given me new strength. I admire the skill of the old masters.

Netherlands bound, weather looks likey to be good
Left good and early, even had some company part of the way by our Roger, although I suspect his motives, we have a skittles evening this weekend an I suspect hes making sure I do go
Kept on seeing camera phones stuck out of passenger windows pointing at me, was a little worrying at times.
Stopped at Clacket Lane services for a pee then for a moment I thought I hadn't made it, leg felt a little wet.
But no, I'd over filled my oil tank. I have very oily trousers. I wash them on the ferry.
I've made a top hat over the filler cap, might at least keep more from my trousers

Re: Ariel, Riding, Breaking and Fixing Diary 2022 Retired!
Fish and chips in Harwich hmmmm tasty
Wasn't all plain sailing getting Harwich. After my tea and a fill up just outside Colchester I only managed 10 feet and she died. Stupid fuse had blown.
Another one blew straight away after replacing it so its a dead short somewhere. I've only a few left so stuffed some solder wire in that I had and had a good look to see I can find the fault. Each time the solder got red hot and I had to switch off. By now I've got tools and bits of bike everywhere, sorry forgot a photo but I'm sure you can picture it. Two bikers came over to offer some help. One said you've picked a bad place to break down!! Well, I said you've obviously haven't. This is a perfect place, garage forecourt, food, toilets. The sun was shining. Plenty of time for the ferry. How much of a better place could it possibly be
Anyway I found it, I hope. A wire going to my trailer comes out of my top box, it had been rubbing against a screw going to the frame
My last problem was getting a fuse back in the holder. The solder had melted and blocked the hole for the fuse
