Dutch Navy WNG's

Post by Vincent.vanGinneke »

On the WD Motorcycle forum a Klaas Doornbos posted two previously unknown pictures of Duth -Navy- WNG's with his father
For those who have not seen them over there, I post them here.

It looks like the man on the left is the same one in both pictures, I assume that's Klaas his father

'KM' on the tank means Koninklijke Marine (Royal Navy)

-Below- this could be somewhere in Belgium or the very south of the Netherlands because of the window shutters.
these shutters are not common above the main rivers.

Very interesting, Vincent.
I guess these were on service in the UK - white-painted edges to mudguards to help show up during 'blackout', but something I've not noticed on W/NGs before (not that I'm any kind of expert....). Bike 102 has a blackout mask on the headlight in one pic - but not in the second one!

Looks like the bikes might have UK road tax disc holders on the sides of the forks. Surely military vehicles were exempt! Maybe they were using them to show some other type of documentation.

Do we know if the KM had many W/NGs?
