Hi Simon,
The brass part was on the shorter twist grip I had. I just pressed it off.
John Nash posted a photo showing a brass cable holder on what appears to be a W/NG throttle. Look back a few threads.
I suppose one could machine off an aluminum throttle part but lack of strength may factor in.
You could make one, as you mentioned.
I added a photo of the completed throttle on the 37RH to my 1st reply to Luis.

A South Bend ! nice machine, I used to have one, sold it because I could not get used to Imperial.
