Hi,
Could anyone advise me on the lower fork race please? I incorrectly assumed the lower race fitted to the fork was correct. Instead of being a cone it has a groove. I trial assembled the fork in the frame yesterday and thought it strange that it only accepted 19 ball bearings when the parts catalogue states 20. I had purchased the correct frame races and the now seemingly correct upper cone came with the bike. It has however gone together and is not binding at all.
Has anyone seen this before at all? I'm guessing the parts are not interchangeable due to the different types of design forces between the 2 races.
Picture of the type of race that came with the forks to follow...
The correct lower race is not currently available at drags.
Many thanks
Adam

The lower race you have is for a pre-1936 Ariel. The correct one is available from Club Singles Spares.

Thank you for the reply!
I am new to the club, but now have my membership number! Could you tell me is there a list of spares available from the club and how do I go about ordering? I tried ringing the landline within February's club magazine but no answer (the issue came with the bike and havent recieved my first issue as I'm so new!)
Many thanks

Either try the number in the evening or email Allan. You may have to try a time or two to catch him since, like all of us, he does like to get out on his bike on a regular basis.
