I spent several hours being stubborn and trying to bead the rear tyre in the garage using all the tricks and my 1.5hp compressor. Left it overnight and it still wouldn't play, so I gave up and took it to work, and we had it sorted in 5 minutes.

Lesson learned - if you have the tools available, use them!

Progress. Bottom yoke in and back wheel test fitted.

The brake plate is sitting wrong, so will have to take it back out and do some filing to remove the excess powder coat.

Needs to be ready for a rally in July. What do you think the chances are?

Another trick with cellulose on the final coat is to use the thinners that you put in the gun to clean it as a last wetting coat. The object being to get the paint just wet enough so it virtually self flattens

More progress this weekend. Forks in, and I have rebuilt the bottom end of the engine, and refurbished the front brake plate with a nice stainless dust cover from Pete kemp.

Yes, I did get one rechromed, but it was in poor condition and didn't look good enough, so I have kept that one and had another spare which I have used for the stainless one.

Progress feels painfully slow at the moment, although this weekend I have managed to get pretty much everything in top coat, but some will need more attention so still not out of the woods with spraying yet.

I have also cleaned and repainted the barrel, and stripped the head, which needs blasting before I can do anything else with it.

Took a quick photo with the tank sitting on it, couldn't resist!

Front mudguard, oil tank and toolbox are all now fitted! They still need a bit more of a polish, but I will be borrowing my colleagues G3 and polisher for the drill to gently bring that up.

Had a bit of help tonight cleaning up the primary cases! Worth showing if any of the wives ever moan about spending quality time together, mine was very happy to help!
