The club has many drawings, particularly for the early models, mostly of bought in components. They are all listed on the website or an up to date Excel spreadsheet can be had from me. You will need to be able to find those funny part number thingies though.

Ooh I like this spell checker thing, look I can spell embarrassed now.

Thanks very much for the offer. A very helpful/kind member has previously sent me tracings of the brackets.

But I am a bit leery of using a bracket I make myself as part of the alignment to reassemble the frame.

Perhaps somebody could comment on the tolerances involved and if I am just over thinking this?

I had also looked at the Slovakian site before but the google translator mostly just broke it :|

But I know they have a lot of good stuff and parts I am looking for.

What Karol said was he can send all over Europe but not Australia. If the EU now sends to the UK also customs duties.

Also sorry to have taken over this thread with a discussion about where to get 1928 Ariel parts!

But it might be helpful and useful to anybody restoring one of these bikes?

So I wonder does anybody have any suggestion for a service or person I could forward the bracket to in Europe who could then ship it on to me?

I ask because the thing is they have a lot of nice bits in Slovakia and I would gladly pay the extra shipping and of course a fee for that forwarding !

Ariel, in the main did not list tolerances, not even general ones but a rule of thumb is fractional dimensions are +/- 1/64, which covers 99% of the dims on Ariel drgs. That gearbox plate drawing is available.
You would be best asking for a postal forwarding volunteer from Europe as shipping to the UK would mean UK and Australian customs will take a bite out of your wallet, whereas there woldn't be any customs charge between Karol to anywhere in the EU

One of the great things about a project is the contacts and friends you make that assist in locating the necessary missing bits.

Just to add a little to your knowledgebase Karol - my A has a chrome tank (which is mentioned in the despatch record). Alas it has lost all it's paint!
cheers
