Square 4 rods

Post by BrianReynolds »

Hello, I am about to start rebuilding my 57 S4, been delayed for over a year due to work but finally getting started. Does anyone have any information on the replacement con rods that were to be manufactured? I was put on a waiting list some time ago but no response so far. I want to build the bike to be used so updated rods would be a good idea. Alternatively anyone have a set they are willing to sell? Thanks.

Brian - which waiting list were you put on?
Maybe try Iron Horse Spares (in the UK).
Bit of a discussion in this thread that might be useful also.

Alloy rods definitely have a limited safe life. As a material it's got a much reduced fatigue life to good steel ones. JAP speedway motors only did one season and were replaced. NEW ones are the only way to be sure.. Nev
