VH500

Post by MarkOgden »

I like the look of the earlier single seat rigid/tele VHs but not the price. Would it be in any way feasible to buy a more cost effective later swing arm/twin shock VH and ahem!... "modify" it to look similar? Single seat perhaps? shallower mudguards? remove the fairing around the headlamp? - or would I be heading for a dog's dinner and would it just look monstrous anyways due to the swing arm frame?

I await salvos of bilious condemnation.....

Well, lately the price of 350 rigids has been quite low, I have a late 40s 350 that I don't think I could even get 3K for. Buy a bike like that and just swap the motor.

With regard to the red version, yes actually! Well something like anyways. That exhaust is particularly hideous though, and a single seat showing more of the the rear mudguard would be nice.

Tony

Yes - thought of that, but 500 motors are a bit thin on the ground....Possible though for sure....
