Hi all, I have a late '40s rigid frame bike with a BA gearbox. The primary chain adjuster snapped and I have a new replacement. Only as I went to fit it did I realise that there is no room at the side of the pin it locates over, to slide the adjuster on whilst everything is together. Do I assume I have to remove the r/h side engine plate to get the new adjuster on?
Thanks, Tony.
BA gearbox adjuster replacement.

Re: BA gearbox adjuster replacement.
yes, or perhaps take of the prim. chain and try to move the box backwards, but maybe you also have to remove the clutch basket.
that or maybe in combination of some wiggling the -loose- engine plate(s) etc.etc.

Just loosen the one plate more at the top. Don't take any studs out. Once the eye is on the pin, the rest slips in place. Nev

I'm getting some new clutch bits from the club, so will tackle the whole thing in one go.
Cheers.
